Tracon 2022!

Hello everyone, I am back here again! I seem to always start a blog post with it has been some time... but sure, it has been quite some time between this and the last post. Everytime I try to predict my work schedule it just seems to ramp up and not leave me with ANY time.

But I managed to sneak some time off and I was headed to Tracon, a big convention in Tampere, Finland. I was there doing some program stuff, I was one of the pokemon gym challenge - gym leaders and that took up most of my time. But I had time to be in a lolita community fashion show! I represented my most awesome comm, Porosuomen lolitat!

It was organized byt the president of the Hellocon organization, same person who runs Cloudberry Lady, lovely Tuulia! She was amazing host and even though I was super nervous, this was my very first fashion show, I had a good time! Our theme was transformation, and I wanted to be a little witchy magical girl who maybe starts out as antagonistic but joins the main group later on. Here is a video of me walking and Tuulia is narrating. (I have no idea if the video works, I've never used bloggers videostuff.) Credits for the video go to Lady Teamaniac and FreakyAngel!

My whole coord, the witch hat, the dress and the blouse were all from Lady Sloth. My shoes are some shoes I found online and were comfy. (I can't remember right now where I got them.) And my necklace was from Puvithels Crystal Hearts series!

As you can see I had no idea how to pose on a stage, but I am still glad for the experience. I might even apply to be a model again! I felt very strange and oddly anxious stepping the stairs up to the stage. I had not realized the amount of people and it took me by suprise! There seemed to be and endless ocean of people watching and I was just... me. Alone and walking. I have a good poker face in situations that I feel nervous in, so I guess no-one could see that. At least I have gotten comments like I did not appear nervous at all, but I know my own tells.

Me as the Poison type gym leader!

The aftershock hit me in the evening. I stayed at my friends place and she could tell I was hyper. I had been anxious about the pokemon gym challenge, about my work, about the fashion show... My partner had to calm me down few nights before, I am the type to worry endlessly about something, but then when the thing starts, I muster up the will to do it. Talk about the ultimate do or die mentality.

I hope that in the audience, if there was someone who has been on the fence about getting into lolita fashion, that this fashion show was able to give them a look of diverse types of the fashion and also, different bodytypes! I would love it if I could inspire someone to try lolita fashion! I know I might not have been the best dressed, that I will give to our beautiful unicorn (check out @hellocon_official on instagram to see the whole show!) But I was able to be myself. Little awkward, definitely walking the line between sweet and gothic (spooky pastels and pastel goth are my favourites) and I will say it, pretty. I felt pretty.

Live out your dreams, involving lolita fashion or not, and never fear. There are people like you and there are people that like you. Thank you so much for reading and lets return to the fashion show with the last picture.
