My lolita wardrobe 2021 - Main pieces

Hi! I got struck with inspiration and took photos of all my main pieces! The wardrobe post didn't need to wait too long at all... I started buying lolita in late 2019, I think November? So this is what I now have. I'll do blouses and accessories later, because the lighting situation is not the best currently. This will be very photo-heavy post, obviously, but I'll give my thoughts on each piece and I'll try to remember when I got them and most importantly, why.

Currently I have 11 main pieces, of which 6 are JSKs, 2 OPs and 3 skirts. I have few more coming in mail later this year, for example some Lady Sloth -pieces, so maybe I'll do little unboxing then!

So! Let's start with my first piece. GlitterTale - Mystic Gallery JSK

Like I mentioned in my introduction post, I got this JSK in February 2020. I fell in love with the color and because its spooky but still not too scary. I really like this print, its all over print, which is rarer in my wardrobe, but I love it nevertheless. You will see in this wardrobe post that no, I do not have a fixed style, but I am drawn to little bit spooky dresses, but also to very sweet pieces.

I really enjoy the simplicity of this dress. Its not too complicated and scary to start with. Like I imagine the really extravagant lace dresses would be a much bigger challenge to coord as a complete beginner. Also, this is really versatile dress! I can dress it up and down with different blouses and accessories.

  Soufflesong - Chocolate Bear JSK

Okay, so this is the dress I bought first in November 2019 and because of the absolute chaos of early 2020 I received it in March. It is my first custom size dress! Soufflesong is Taobao brand, and it has selection of dresses that can be custom sized and english website! Overall, I really like these colours, they remind me of Christmas season. I am really happy with this dress, in my opinion the quality is really good and it fits me really great!

This dress has more of a heavy print in my mind, and it is really cute! I really like that this sweet dress is is jewel-tones, as I am not very comfortable with pastel colours yet. In my everyday I tend to dress very casually and in very dark colours. So in this dress I feel very confident, and I feel it flatters my shape quite nicely. I really like that it has this waist detail that separates the skirt and the top part. And of course, I love bears! I recently bought bear ears, so when they arrive I have this and one other dress with bears that I will use them to coord.

Violet Fane - A cult from the Sea

My first skirt! I found Violet Fane through facebook group Lolita Updates and I just had to have this! I did not really love the jsk cut, so I thought, hey, what about that skirt? I am really experimenting with this and my other skirts since all my blouses are see through, so I have to use my non-lolita clothing. I really need to find some skirt friendly plus size blouses.

So, this print is inspired by Lovecrafts Cthulhu mythos. I don't really like horror, but for some reason I really enjoy cosmic horror, in which Cthulhu mythos is included. I really like to coord this in academy way, inspired by the enamel pin that is in this print series. I have to say, I was first really sceptical of skirts in general, but I really enjoy this! This print is really nice, I like that its not solid blue, it has subtle writing and drawings on it.

Violet Fane - Vampire Hunter Academy

And more Violet Fane! I have been really loving their desings, I can't wait for what they have in mind for 2021! I was really tempted by Otome nostalgia, but it does not fit in with my wardrobe. I really don't wear pink as a main piece, I have pink blouse, but I don't really enjoy having too much pink. But! Back to this print, I love it! I have read Bram Stoker's Dracula so many times and this is the perfect skirt to imagine being student in Vampire Hunter Academy! I really really enjoy wearing this.

This print is super cool and has everything you could need when hunting vampires. I wish that finding plus size clothes would be easier, since I really want a vest to pair with this! Or that kind of really wide belt that Atelier Pierrot has in their instagram. I think that it would look super cool with this.

Metamorphose temps de fille - Twinkle Journey

This dress is the most comfortable dress that I own!! Its so stretchy and soft and I love the colour and the print and everything about this! I found this on lacemarket and it was a steal! I really love this dress, the print is so whimsical and lovely, pegasi and lakeview and the colours are just really on point! I absolutely love this <3

I was so nervous when buying this, the seller was kinda unresponsive and was really slow to ship this, but! I got it and its fantastic. I really can't think of what else to really say about this than that I love it and want to cherish it. If I ever get to go to an event where Metamorphose is a guest, I would wear this. I always feel so good when I wear this.

Lady Sloth - My Coffee Time

This is my first dress from Lady Sloth and its THE DRESS that got me finally into lolita fashion. This is the lavender colourway and high-waist cut. If I could now choose again, I would get the normal waisted one, but I love this print too much to go without. I just absolutely love the combination of lavender and brown, it looks so delicious and pretty! I got brown blouse little while ago and I really need to coord this again! I really need to live up to my name, laventeli means lavender in finnish, and get more lavender coording pieces, I tried to do monochromatic lavender coord but the lavender blouse I have is not the same shade... But it still looks pretty good.

But really, this print is super lovely! I love the different browns in this and I think I should try to do kinda café-style coord, this would look so cute with apron! And maybe some sweets jewelry? I have some BB&B pieces, but maybe I should look to buy some more! Of course, Lady Sloth has brooches and necklaces that are things from this print, and I do have cake necklace! Now I am really eager to wear this again!

Violet Fane - The Funeral

This is my third and final skirt, and its from Violet Fane (suprising no one). I really liked the grey version of this, but when pictures of this black colourway dropped I just had to have it! I enjoy the cool tones in this print and this just conveys the feeling of cool summer evening. At least to me.
I noticed in facebook groups that people had received dresses with weird seams and white marks and fabric snags, but when I went and really checked out my skirt I couldn't find any oddities. Maybe I just lucked out or maybe the problem was with the jsks?

I really like this print, it is so gothic but still very elegant. I had a vision for coord featuring veil and I have been trying to find some that I like but I haven't been very successful. But I definitely need to wear and coord this soon! I have not taken any pictures with this yet, but I wore it. I just seem to always miss like one piece that would make this nice to wear, be it tights or shoes or headwear. But as I have come to notice, lolita is a collecting hobby.

Lady Sloth - Teatime at Grandma's

I love this dress!! I was and still am very torn on the colourway, but I am thinking of maybe getting the other jsk cut in bordeaux. But! I just love this so much! Its so soft and strechy, I really enjoy the print and that little mouse in the teacup!!!! He is so precious!!

And I absolutely love the teacup lace on this, its so cute! It has macarons in it! The blue colour is so nice and vibrant, but very different than most lolita clothing. I know that this print is drawn by Antygea, as is My Coffee Time and I have to say that I love her style, it's so nice and colourful and cute!

The print features a table laid with the most delicious-looking teaparty you've ever seen! I love everything about it and you may notice it because I included three pictures of it. BUT LOOK AT IT! It's so beautiful!

                                                                            GlitterTale - Mermaid Dessert

This one I got in July and it arrived in November, but this year has been such an odd year I really have no complaints about that. But this dress is sailor op and its the second op I have. As you can see, I like GlitterTales all over prints, as this is another like that, but I bought this to have something fun but simple to wear in summer. This print has such a summer feeling to me, I don't think that it really works in other than summery coords. Maybe I'm wrong, but this dresses purpose is to be summer dress to me. Something that you do not have to think too hard about.

I think that all the desserts in this print are so fun and cute, they remind me of those mermaid foods that in kids shows the mermaids would eat. I was really into fairies and mermaids as a kid, and I really like them now as an adult too! But I have to say that nowdays I feel more in common with seals, they are round and they bounce away~

Metamorphose temps de fille - My dear friends

May I freaking scream?! When I was just starting to get into lolita in 2019, I saw this print on Metas webshop and I. was. so. obsessed. I almost cried when I noticed that it was too small and I would never fit into that dress. But THEN, Meta started to release things in plus size and plus plus size. I had no money to buy Magical Artefact (I had no job, but now I have!) and I was so sad that I had to miss a release that was both amazing and in my size. But then I got a job. And then, Meta announced this. I got it the day it dropped because I had the money and I was so happy!!

This print has teddy bears, bunnies and apples!!! Apples are my favourite fruit and this dress is so pretty, I love the corset lacing on top and I love the lace on the bows! And most importantly, I love that I was able to get it in my size. Honestly, Meta is the absolute KING of making plus size things of the like big japanese brands. I was so sure that I would never get this! Never! And here it is! In my posession! I am so happy about this, I love this dress.

Metamorphose temps de fille - Wizard Dress with Hood

This is the newest and last addition to my wardrobe in 2020. This is the only non-printed dress in my wardrobe, at least for now. I really love this, it gives such a elegant look and in the same time, it has a hood!!?? I just really like like the desing and I really have to get new petticoat for this! The fabric used here is so heavy that my MeLikesTea petti does not lift it enough and the front looks sort of awkward. I am thinking of getting the Poof Monster petti from MeLikesTea, since I noticed that also my other dresses could use bigger petti. I was kind of scared at first about getting too big petti, but now that I actually have these dresses that could hold much larger pettis I am not that worried anymore.

The fabric of this dress is really textured but not in a bad way. It feels heavy and very stiff, but the shirring stretches really nicely and it almost feels like this dress holds me in. I love bordeaux and gold together, normally I am more silver person but this just feels so warm to me somehow? I really look forward wearing this in these winter months!

And here it is! My main pieces, now if you made it through that I'll give you applause!! I hope that in 2021 I'll get more blouses, as I have very varied colours in this wardrobe, going against all advice to newbies. I'm sure that you all have seen that you should stick to one style or to about same colours? I don't actually disagree, I think its smart advice, I just don't have patience to not have the things I really love. And as you can see, I have many, many favourite colours.

Thank you for reading this and we'll see in the next post!
