Introducing myself

Hi! I am Laventeli_lady, a newbie lolita. Welcome! This is a little ramble about my start in lolita fashion and why I decided to start a blog!

 I wanted to start this blog as a way to document my journey to lolita fashion and also to give myself a little more room to ramble and explain my thoughts as Instagram in my mind is primarly for pictures. But I do have lolita dedicated instagram, you can follow me @laventeli_lady. Also, I know that I tend to ramble and even if nobody ever read these posts, this blog will be kinda like diary for myself.

I first discovered lolita fashion in 2019, when Safiya Nygaard made her lolita fashion makeover video. I was so captivated by the beauty of these clothes and I instantly wanted to know more. Google searches provided quite old and mixed results, but I was able to find blogs and wikis to explain more of this fashion. I also found Lovely Lor on youtube, and by the powers of algorithm, I found more lolita youtube videos too. 

At first I was very nervous about joining the fashion, since I am very plus sized, as in significantly over 100cm in both bust and waist, I felt quite sad and insecure. I was quite discouraged at first since almost everything I could find was too small. But I was able to get over that hurdle, since I am now here :D 

 I got my first proper dress at Hello!Market, small swapmeet kinda event in February 2020. Someone super lovely was selling this GlitterTale Mystic Gallery print dress. She said she wast selling it because she had sent in wrong measurements, since GlitterTale makes the dress to your measurements. I was able to try it on and I nearly cried then and there when it fit!! So I bought it and brought it home <3 

Here I am! This was my first coord ever, and it was in February 2020. Almost a year ago! I had so much hair!
 

I have since collected more lolita, but because of the global pandemic, I have been lone-lita, so I haven't been out in lolita much, but I hope that in this year we are able to hold events again. I am particulary looking forward to Domus Reginae, since I live in Finland!

But! I hope that in the coming new year things will be better and I hope that I'll be able to wear lolita more. I definitely have to take more pictures! So I guess my new years resolution is to wear more lolita and take more pictures of myself in pretty dresses.  Oh, and also to get more blouses!

Matsucon and Cloudberry Lady FASHION SHOW!

 Hello! I have been at it again and I have returned to this blog! Sooner than later this time.  I attended Matsucon at Oulu, Finland. Its the largest city somewhat near me, and somehow I had some free time from my work! Its somewhat miraculous that I had nothing on my plate at that time so I took it upon myself to apply to be a model!  Tuulia, the designer and owner of Cloudberry Lady, held THE biggest fashion show on her brands history! She told that her brand has 10 year birthday this year, so it was only proper to get BIG.  The Fashion show had a theme of Halloween meets Christmas! We had the tree, some presents, decorations, mad scientist, a triceratops, you know all those essential christmas things? Well, I had the absolute honor of being the last dress and the triceratops to save the christmas!  All these pictures are from freakyangel.com or @freakyangelxox ! Twinkle Journey and March happenings

 Hello! March has gone by in a flash, I barely realized it was going and now it is going to end! I had a long week workinga at a camp, but now that I have been back at home, I feel much more rested and happy. I have been super busy with work and with personal matters, so taking a break and having some fun dressing up was really welcome and I am glad I did it.  So I wore Twinkle Journey! I have talked about this dress already, but it is the older version of Twinkle Journey, the puff sleeved op cut, but unfortunately the elastic in the sleeves has given up and so my sleeves don't puff up anymore. Still, it is a beautiful dress and I plan on taking this dress to a seamstress and asking if they can replace all the elastics, so that this dress can shine another ten years forward at least!  I really went for the simplest coord idea I had, my dress and headbow are both Twinkle Journey from Metamorphose (yes, I got the headbow secondhand also).
